Ajay Devgan, a renowned Indian film industry actor, was born to Veeru and Veena Devgan, in Mumbai. His father Veeru Devgan is a very famous stunt artist and director of several Hindi movies. Ajay Devgan received his education from Mumbai's prestigious Silver Beach High School and Mithibai college. Anil Devgan, his brother, is also related to Indian film industry as a filmmaker. Ajay Devgan married Kajol, a beautiful Indian actress, and has two kids. Ajay and Kajol met each other while shooting for a film called Gundaraaj and subsequently fell into love.

Ajay began his acting career in the year 1991 with a film called Phool aur Kaante which was a big hit. He received Best Male Debut Filmfare award for this film. His heroine in the film was Madhu. This film established Ajay Devgan as an action hero. Jigar, his subsequent film also was super duper hit at the box office. In the year 1993, he featured in Dil hai Betaab, Divya Shakti, and Sangram. All these films were successful and were hugely appreciated by the audience. 

With the release of Dilwale, a Harry Baweja film, Ajay showcased his acting talents as a romantic actor as well. In this film, he portrayed Arun Saxena, an intellectually impaired man. The same year saw the release of Kanoon, Suhaag, and Vijaypath, all of them being super hits. Vijaypath gave a a tight fight to Karan Arjun, a shah Rukh Khan starred film. More of his rocking hits released in 1995 including Mahesh Bhatt's Najayaz, Milan Lutharia's Hulchul, and Haqeeqat, opposite Tabu. All of these films established Ajay Devgan as a bankable actor in the Hindi film industry. 

In 1996, he played the role of a terrorist Shaka in Harry Baweja's Diljale. Jaan, opposite Twinkle Khanna, and Jung were also released this year. In 1997, his film Itihaas did not do well at the box office. However, his next release Ishq with Kajol, Juhi Chawla, and Amir Khan became a blockbuster hit of the year, grossing 30 crores. 


Ajay Devgan's acting career rose to new heights when he won Nation Film Award for Best Actor for Zakhm, a Mahesh Bhatt film. The film was based on the backdrop of Mumbai's communal riots. Apart from acting, he also produced several films under the banner of Ajay Devgan Films including All the Best, U me aur Hum, Raju Chacha. Ajay turned director with the release of Shivaay in 2016. Milan Lutahria's Badshahao and a sequel of Sonof Sardar are set for release in 2017.
