Anil Kapoor is one of the most recognized
and famous Indian actors in his country, who has appeared in many Bollywood, as
well as international films. He was born on the 24th December 1959 in Tilak
Nagar, in Mumbai. Born in a family of film makers (his father was a producer),
he acquired a graduate degree from the Film and TV Institute of India (FTII) in
Pune.

Kapoor made his debut in the film industry in his country, when he was only 12 years old, by playing a supporting role in the film 'Hamare Tumhare' in 1979. He also played a few other minor roles, such as in 'Hum Paanch' in 1980 and in 'Shakti' in 1982. His first leading role came a few years later, in 1983, when he took part in the Indian film 'Woh Saat Din'. The famous Indian actor and producer after making his first debut film, he starred as the leading actor in a Telugu film. In 1985, Anil Kapoor made his first successful movie 'Meri Jung' and he took his first international role in 2008 with the well-known film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

Critics Award for Best Actor. He received his second Filmfare Best Actor Award
in 1992 for his performance in 'Beta' film, which was produced by Indra Kuma.
Four years later (2002) he played a fat man in the film 'Badhaai Ho Badhaai'
and also starred at 'The Nutty Yuvraaj' in 2008.
Moreover, throughout his
incredible career as an actor, he also portrayed Omar Hassan, the President
(fictional) of Kamistan. In addition, he also took part in various hindi films
in his long career as a singer, such as in the famous Bollywood comedy under
the title 'Chameli Ki Shaadi' in 1986. He received many more awards throughout
his long career; two National Film Awards and six Flimfare Awards in different
acting categories.

Anil Kapoor attended the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School in his home place and then he graduated from the St. Xavier's College. In 1984, he married his wife Unita Bhavnani Kapoor, who is a costume designer. They have 3 children; two daughters and 1 son. His first daughter (Sonam Kappor), who was born in 1985, is also and actress and his younger daughter (by the name Rhea Kapoor), who was born in 1987, is a film producer and his son Harshvardhan Kapoor (who was born in 1990) is also an actor.
